So now that filmings done, i've started working on my animated story of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. I've tried to stick to a particular drawing style to better encompass her story; which she wrote in 1818. So I've been looking alot at victorian engravings and illustrations(they really loved their crosshatching), as well as the origional artwork that came with the book and of course our groups decision of a da vinci style.
So these are the images I've come up with so far. I'm still in the designing stage and havn't finalised what I'm going to show on greenscreen yet. We have around 10 seconds to represent each story, so I'm trying to narrow down a few ideas to get Frank across the best. Once I've finished the designing stage, I'm going to look at overlaying text to give it a more "worked on" jotter type look, rather than just a page with a few pictures.
Animation wise, I'm taking influence from the Sherlock Holmes title sequence, where a mixture of ink and illustration slowly shows the characters. I'm hoping to emulate this with my own work...the castle above shows me messing around with colour using coffee (I'd ran out of ink)
